the technology of Extraction

As a common technique of natural Pyrethrins production in the world, solvent-extraction shows disadvantages such as low extracting rate, unfavorable quality and serious pollution to the environment, etc..
Several years ago a CO2 hyper-critical extracting technique in natural Pyrethrins production was created by Chinese Science Institute Kunming Branch of Vegetable Research. Whereas this technique could not accommodate large-scale production because of heavy investment on equipment, high cost and limited size, etc..
Aiming at the questions mentioned above, the company brought forward the idea of sub-critical hydro-extraction (abbr:SCHE) and set up two tentative production lines of 500L capacity each. In more than 300 operations 60 tons of dry pyrethrum was processed to concentrate into an output of one ton of Pyrethrins of 50% content.
Advantages can be concluded as follows:

1, Small investment on equipment:
The investment on the equipment of sub-critical extraction of 12000L capacity is merely one tenth of that of hyper-critical one.

2, Unlimited size:
The production capacity of the equipment can scale-up in accordance with requirements.

3, Favorable extracting rate:
Better extraction result for ester-soluble materials reaches 97% for Pyrethrins.

4, Perfect preservation of active elements:
Processing under the normal temperature, the sub-critical extraction technique doesn¡¯t destroy the active components of Pyrethrins. The proportion of Pyrethrins¢ñand ¢òis 2.9:1. (For comparison: 1.8:1 of that produced by hyper-critical technique, 1.5:1 of that made in Kenya)

5, Compatible with environment:
The sub-critical extraction technique causes no wastewater, dust or waste gas and it can be understood to be an environment-protecting industry.

The NCP equipment

Based on the self-owned intellectual property of sub-critical hydro-extraction, the company by itself designed and manufactured a SCHE production line of 3,000L¡Á4 with a rated capacity of 200 tons of Pyrethrins of 25% content, which is the largest equipment in China.

The production line mentioned above runs in a total obturated status and causes no wastewater, dust or waste gas. The flower dregs produced during its operation can be reused to make mosquito incenses. It can be concluded that it can bring fewer loss of solvents, power and operating costs, thus compatible with environment.

According to the characteristics of SCHE raw product, the company has developed a rectification technique for degreasing & decoloring and possesses of the intellectual property. The technique needs small investment but results in high productivity and high quality, therefore it can make Pyrethrins of a content up to 70-80%.

Appearing as a light brown transparent liquid, the rectified natural Pyrethrins can dissolve entirely in diluents such as deodoured kerosene, and it is a perfect raw material to make high grade pesticides & agricultural ones. <back>
